Friends of God
When we become followers of Christ, the next steps seem pretty straightforward: go to church, join a community, love God and others, avoid sin, read the Bible, and pray. All of that is great, but what does any of that have to do with being God’s friend?
Is this friendship merely a nice sentiment used to invoke spiritual feelings or an emotional experience? Or, does friendship with God mean something higher and greater? How do we walk in this friendship with God, and what does it require of us?
