Mission | Vision

on earth as it is in heaven

Mission

  • To cultivate a God-present and life-changing environment where people are transformed into passionate followers of Jesus Christ, who demonstrate God’s endless and unconditional love to the world.

Vision

  • To leave Dayton better than we found it
  • Making long lasting simple and spiritual differences throughout the city and beyond.

Our Heartbeat

THESE ARE OUR CORE VALUES, WHAT WE BELIEVE, AND WHERE WE'RE GOING

Beliefs

God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and equips to minister to others. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.

Core Values

Passionate Worship

Giving Jesus our highest praise and deepest affection, experiencing His presence with authenticity.

Transformation

Through the work of Jesus on the cross we are transformed from orphans to sons and daughters, captive to free, from fearful to brave and through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit we walk in lasting life change.

Missional Living

Making a difference every day by going into the community, sharing the Gospel message in relevant and practical ways, through love, service, and power.

Relational Maturity

Growing healthy multi-generational, life-giving, Christ-centered relationships in our church, small groups, families, and communities.

Sincere Love

Out of the resources and goodness of God, simply serving with integrity and excellence, treating all people with compassion and honor.

Pioneering

Venturing with God in innovative and creative ways to extend the Kingdom into places unknown.

As a teen, Doug Roe found Christ and was looking to be of a part of a church that was doing what Jesus did. He would look unsuccessfully until the 1980s when he was introduced to the ministry of John Wimber and the Vineyard Church movement. Doug and his wife Marcie, found the church they had been looking for the moment they walked into the Vineyard Church in Cincinnati.

Doug, who always desired a role in church leadership, would join the staff of The Cincinnati Vineyard, leaving his job in corporate America. It was during that time Doug would meet Scott Sliver, a worship leader and a small businessman. Becoming friends the duo would learn they shared a unique dream, to see a church like the Vineyard in Dayton.

Soon the two ordinary guys would pack up their families, leave Cincinnati for Dayton to change the world. They would plant The Vineyard church in Dayton with a single goal, to make a lasting change on the city in simple ways with the love and power of God. Since planting the church over 20 years ago, they have never looked back, leading the church in innovative ways of making God’s love known throughout the city and beyond.

DSSM

Events

Renewed. Transformed.

DSSM equips people to live a supernatural lifestyle by doing the stuff Jesus did. Everywhere Jesus went people encountered the love and power of God in practical and life changing ways. This same love and power is available to every believer in Jesus. We see this as more then just a school. It is a movement of empowered Christ followers who carry the reality of the kingdom of God everywhere they go!

The foundation for this school is a healthy perspective of Father God as good all of the time and understanding the truth of your identity in Christ. We believe that authentic love and power demonstrated from our lives must come from a healthy heart connection with the Father. Through relationship and right believing, we begin to live as empowered sons and daughters.

You will experience an environment for transformation to happen by encountering the presence of Jesus and being taught mind renewing truth. We cultivate a family atmosphere through our revival small groups and a safe place to grow in the gifts of the Spirit. We are passionate in our pursuit of God and joy-filled in reaching out to the people of our city.

So come join us on this quest into the heart of God as we seek to be more like Jesus in our every day living!

The first place we want to go to be entertained is a movie, concert, TV, etc.  The clothes you wear or the car you drive has been created by an artist. Come join other “Creatives” as we develop a community of artists to change the atmosphere of our city, see the sick healed, unlock inventions and release more than what we can imagine. We will be using the Book by Theresa Dedmon, “Born to Create” as a reference.

Did you accept Christ recently? Awesome!

We are so glad you did! As a church we don’t want you to walk alone on this new journey. We’re here to help you move forward.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

Prepare to Last!

Events · Pastoral Care

About the class

Intimacy is critical to the process of developing and sustaining close relationships. Modernization has shifted the primary function of marriage from providing security, stability, and raising children to developing a lifetime of love and intimacy. In previous generations successful marriages depended upon duty and role competence. Modern marriages require greater interpersonal competence as well as equality between partners in peer relationships. Relationships are sought that not only create stable families but also provide partners with a lifetime of love and companionship!

Prepare to Last! is a two-day seminar for individuals who are thinking about getting married, planning to get married in the months June-November 2015, as well as couples in their first year of marriage who did not have the opportunity to participate in a pre-marriage process. The seminar is led by a team of trained facilitators.

Questions? Contact Kevin Hoffman, Congregational & Pastoral Care ministry via email at khoffman@daytonvineyard.com or by phone at 937-520-8496.

WHEN: Friday, July 107:00-9:30pm & Saturday, July 11, 8:30am-5:00pm.

WHERE: The Lodge, Worship Center, Beavercreek Campus.

COST: $85 per couple … includes all materials, an online relationship inventory, snacks during breaks, continental breakfast, & lunch.

Giving is an act of worship

Why:
  • Giving is an act of worship that expresses our love and thankfulness to God by first acknowledging what He has supplied and entrusted to us.
Result:
  • Giving changes lives, both the one living generously and the many touched through Dayton Vineyard’s success in making long lasting practical and spiritual differences throughout the city and beyond.
