Where is God in the Midst of Pain and Loss?
Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” (John 16:33 MSG)
When difficult times occur, there are questions:
1. Why did this happen? No answer is ever sufficient!
2. A more helpful question is, What can I learn from this situation?
When difficult times occur, we have two choices:

Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. (Ephesians 3:16-18 NLT)
