Register for an opportunity to study Plein Air Painting in Pastel with Marilyn Wightman. Marilyn received an art education degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH and has taken a variety of workshops and classes to extend her knowledge of pastel painting. She has studied with Richard McKinley, Lorenzo Chavez, Sally Strand, Kim Lordier, Terri Ford, Elizabeth Mowry and other well-known painters. Marilyn lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is represented by Tresa Vorenberg Goldsmiths. She is also a regular participant in the annual Eldorado Studio Tour. This workshop will include two parts: Morning – We will work in the classroom with instruction and practice in the following areas. – Composition when painting plein air – Using notans to bring design elements into your painting – The value of understanding simultaneous contrast Afternoon – Putting what you’ve studied into practice! Two hours of pastel painting in plein air followed by a group critique.
