Welcome to my online blog for our Vineyard Life Journal!
This forum IS NOT for debate or to correct each other, but to share our insights and observations. (Actually, I will be keeping a pretty tight rein on the comments section, and I will have the ability to block trolls, spammers or those who just want to stir the pot.)
Before you comment or read what I have posted, read today’s passages for yourself and complete your own S.O.A.P. exercise… (If you read mine first, it may taint what you think.)

Here is my SOAP for today, Tuesday, November 6, 2018
Job 30 Job continues his dissertation/interlude waxing philosophically… that people mock him and how everyone is out to get him.
Psalms 120:6-7 “Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. 7 I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.”
Galatians 3:2 “Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?”
26 “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Galatians 4:4 “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”
I am reminded yet again that we are not under the Law… We did not receive the Spirit by keeping the Law, but by believing the message about Christ.
I think it’s important to remember EVERY DAY that we are not under the Law of Moses, but the Law of Christ and the Spirit. That we are his children, adopted into his family. THAT is great news!
It’s not so that we can live however and do whatever, but so that we can live in freedom from the Law… to fulfill that law by loving others and sharing this message of freedom from sin in Christ. Not that we live a sin-free life, but that we are free from the burden of sin.
Lord, I am so thankful that you have set me (us) free!
