Welcome to my online blog for our Vineyard Life Journal!
This forum IS NOT for debate or to correct each other, but to share our insights and observations. (Actually, I will be keeping a pretty tight rein on the comments section, and I will have the ability to block trolls, spammers or those who just want to stir the pot.)
Before you comment or read what I have posted, read today’s passages for yourself and complete your own S.O.A.P. exercise… (If you read mine first, it may taint what you think.)

Here is my SOAP for today, Saturday, August 25, 2018
Jeremiah 37:18 “Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, “What crime have I committed against you or your attendants or this people, that you have put me in prison? 19 Where are your prophets who prophesied to you, ‘The king of Babylon will not attack you or this land’? 20 But now, my lord the king, please listen. Let me bring my petition before you: Do not send me back to the house of Jonathan the secretary, or I will die there.”
Jeremiah 38:24 “Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “Do not let anyone know about this conversation, or you may die.”
Jeremiah 39:1 “In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege to it. 2 And on the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah’s eleventh year, the city wall was broken through.”
11 “Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given these orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard: 12 “Take him and look after him; don’t harm him but do for him whatever he asks.”
Psalms 79:1 “O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple, they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble. 2 They have left the dead bodies of your servants as food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your own people for the animals of the wild. 3 They have poured out blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury the dead.
2 John verse 6 “As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.”
Babylon has finally taken Jerusalem as Jeremiah prophesied…
I love that king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave an order regarding Jeremiah, “Take him and look after him; don’t harm him but do for him whatever he asks.” If you are going to be in captivity, that’s the way to do it. Sounds a bit like when Paul was arrested in Rome! More like house arrest…
Jeremiah was accused of prophesying doom and gloom… but the other prophets were prophesying positive lies… just saying what people/leaders wanted to hear.
Favor is a good thing. You can have favor with all types of people.
Bottom line, you can be up to your knees in mud in a cistern one minute, in the king’s court the next!
Thank you, Lord, for favor on my life…
