Welcome to my online blog for our Vineyard Life Journal!
This forum IS NOT for debate or to correct each other, but to share our insights and observations. (Actually, I will be keeping a pretty tight rein on the comments section, and I will have the ability to block trolls, spammers or those who just want to stir the pot.)
Before you comment or read what I have posted, read today’s passages for yourself and complete your own S.O.A.P. exercise… (If you read mine first, it may taint what you think.)

Here is my SOAP for today, Friday, March 2, 2018
Numbers 30:16 “These are the regulations the Lord gave Moses concerning relationships between a man and his wife, and between a father and his young daughter still living at home.”
Numbers 31:1 “The Lord said to Moses, “Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people.” (Balaam is killed in this battle… Yes, it is the same Balaam/donkey.) Then they divided the plunder.
49 “Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one is missing.”
Mark 9 the transfiguration… with Peter, James and John… Elijah and Moses… talking with Jesus. 7 “A cloud appeared and covered them.”
Jesus healed a boy who was mute (by an impure deaf/mute spirit.)
24 “Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed,
“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
35 “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
40 “…whoever is not against us is for us.”
I find it very interesting that Balaam is killed in that battle… after blessing the armies of Israel. You would think he might have been spared? (I wonder what happened to his donkey??)
I also find it interesting that not one Israelite soldier was lost in the battle… out of 12,000!
I love the story of the transfiguration… I wonder what Moses and Elijah and Jesus were talking about. What was said? It seemed to have been a pretty brief conversation… Just touching base?
“Hey, Jesus… Hey Moses… Elijah… How’s it going… Well… you know… same old same old… Healing the sick, raising the dead… casting out demons… But those Pharisees and Sadducees… and of course, the teachers of the Law… they are pretty stubborn… Moses, you remember what that was like, how stubborn people can be? Yeah… I feel you. Well, look… I better get back to Peter, James and John… (Peter’s wigging out, as usual… love that guy…) Well… see you soon, OK? Pray for me… I’m not looking forward to this… You know… Passover is just around the corner… See you…”
Does a cloud always appear when Moses shows up??
You never know what might happen… Anything could happen, on any given day!
This is a different perspective from the world’s, “If you’re not with me, you’re against me.” Mark 9:40 “…whoever is not against us is for us.”
Lord I thank you that you are able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. I say yes to you and to your plan… Although I am pretty sure I have no idea what the implications of that may be…
