I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I want you to know how thankful I am for you… for your friendship and support. For your willingness to give and serve and help us on this mission of loving people into relationship with Jesus Christ!
As the Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 1;
“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”
This weekend Caleb will be sharing a message on gratitude from the Gospel of Luke… The story of the ten men who had leprosy, that Jesus healed… but only one of them went back to thank him… (Next week we will be starting a new series, Fear Not.)
Last weekend during my message I invited everyone into a time of prayer and fasting, leading up to Christmas. We are not petitioning God for anything in particular, only to draw closer to Him. Some may fast a day per week. Others may fast for a few consecutive days at some point. Or, you can simply give up something like coffee or technology. You can decide, but I would like for everyone to consider joining in at some level. I can’t wait to hear all of your testimonies!
Here is the information regarding our schedule and service options for the holidays…
We are partnering with local school guidance counselors who are providing us with the names of children in need this Christmas. Last year we helped hundreds of kids! This is a great way to show God’s love to families all across the city!
