This weekend we are continuing our message series, Stronger Faith. Last weekend Caleb spoke about the empowering of the Spirit and how we are all commissioned for service. This weekend Scott will flesh out what it means to walk that out. Galatians 5 states, “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” He’s going to share a few practical steps we can all take to live that out and impact the world around us. It should be a great weekend!
On Saturday, November 11th from 10A–3P we are going to host a “drive-thru” opportunity for Veterans to stop by and receive a blessing. It will give us the opportunity to say “Thank you” and to honor and bless those who have served to provide us the freedom under which we live and worship. We will have a booth set up in our parking lot for them to stop by and receive a Veteran’s blessing. They will also have the opportunity to stop in our lobby for coffee and donuts and to receive additional ministry, if they are interested in doing so.
There are many ways to get involved in this great event. We need ministry partners in the following areas: Hospitality, Blessers, PTSD Ministry (Training Required), Facilities, Traffic Control and Window Washers. Please register to serve by clicking HERE.
Our friend Dr. Mike Hutchings, who has developed a prayer model for ministering to those with PTSD, will be doing a training for our prayer team and for those who would like to pray with our Veterans during our Words For Warriors event. The training will be held in our Creative Arts Room on November 9th from 6:30P–9P. If you would like to participate in caring for our Veterans in this way, please register for the training by clicking HERE.
Mike will also be speaking during our Sunday morning services that weekend. We are dedicating our services to honoring those who have served in our Nation’s Armed Services. Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts from Judson University, a Master of Divinity in Counseling from Northern Seminary, a Doctor of Theology from Phoenix University of Theology and is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary. The subject of his dissertation is “Treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Through Reproducible Spiritual Strategies.” This dissertation documents the many cases of post traumatic stress disorder (military and civilian) that Mike has seen healed through the power of healing prayer. He has also conducted “Healing PTSD” training seminars throughout the country, training prayer ministers, clergy, chaplains, and counselors to utilize a healing prayer model to bring healing and restoration to those suffering with PTSD. Please join us as we honor our Veterans this weekend.
When I spoke about baptism in my message a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that we will be doing baptisms during our next Open Heavens night of worship, Sunday, November 12th at 6P. There is a class for those desiring to be baptized. The class for adults is Sunday, November 12th at 5P in the Lodge (just prior to the start of Open Heavens). The class for children is scheduled for Sunday, November 5th during the 9A service, room #102 in the Family Center. CLICK HERE to register for baptisms.
I also wanted to let you know our final seminar for married couples is November 3rd-4th. “Oxygen” is designed to help you and your loved one discover a happier and healthier relationship. You will learn strategies to get over the same old issues and gain a better understanding of each other’s needs. You will learn tools to resolve conflict and be heard and get some ideas to rekindle your romance and an action plan for your relationship. Nov. 3rd from 6-9P & Nov. 4th from 9A-3P in the Family Center in room #101.
This event is designed for you to attend with your partner and includes food and refreshments, plus resources & all necessary materials. CLICK HERE for all the details and to register!
