How are you doing? I always appreciate you taking the time to read my note and catch up on all the latest happenings around the Vineyard. My note is our attempt at letting everyone know about upcoming events and how you can get connected.
I always like to give you a preview of the upcoming weekend message from the current series we are in. Our current series is Stronger Faith, based on the book of Acts. This week’s message is from Acts 8:14-17; it’s about the commissioning of the disciples. In a similar manner, the Holy Spirit commissions each of us for service. Each of us is called and anointed by the Spirit to do good works and to serve Him in our own unique way!
When people heard the message of Christ they asked a very simple question, “What should we do?” The short answer was, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” A change of heart… a change of mind… a change of purpose.
We will be doing baptisms during our next Open Heavens night of worship, Sunday, November 12th at 6P. There is a class for those desiring to be baptized. The class for adults is Sunday, November 12th at 5P in the Lodge (just prior to the start of Open Heavens) The class for children is scheduled for Sunday, November 5th during the 9A service, room #102 in the Family Center. If you or your home group would like to throw a Halloween House Party outreach in your neighborhood, let us know. We will provide you with some resources (candy, glow bracelets, hot cocoa, etc.) to help you out! Please let us know if you would like to be a host or a participant. If you elect to be a participant, you will be paired with others and given a host location at which to serve. Register by October 22nd. To register, CLICK HERE. Questions? Email Tommy Lauber for all the details at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Veteran’s Day is just around the corner and we are making plans to bless the Veterans in our community. We are going to host a “drive-thru” opportunity for Veterans to stop by and receive a blessing. It will give us the opportunity to say “Thank you” and to honor and bless those who have served to provide us the freedom under which we live and worship. We will have a booth set up in our parking lot for them to stop by and receive a Veteran’s blessing. They will also have the opportunity to stop in our lobby for coffee and donuts and to receive additional ministry, if they are interested in doing so.
Our friend Mike Hutchings, who has developed a prayer model for ministering to those with PTSD, will be with us that weekend. He will be doing a training for our prayer team and speaking at our weekend services. For more information CLICK HERE.
Aurora’s monthly training for Hearing His Voice will be on Thursday, October 26th at 6:30P. This training is open to everyone desiring to grow in their ability to hear from the Lord. REGISTER HERE.
