I have been thinking a lot about seasons lately… Maybe it’s because I have been working on planting my field of sunflowers… maybe it’s because this week Summer officially began (on Wednesday). I have lived long enough to realize that life itself is very seasonal. In Ecclesiastes 3, it says that “there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” A couple of weekends ago, I posed the question, “What time is it?” Challenging each of us to become more aware of the times and seasons in our lives… and being ready for whatever God has for us.
As I have been contemplating all of this myself and I have realized a few things along the way that I would like to pass on to you. This weekend I will be sharing a follow-up message that will focus on recognizing the seasons in all of our lives. I hope you are able to join us for worship this weekend!
Camp uReveal was a huge success this past week! We had about 60 kids discovering their unique gifting through art, dance, science and athletics. Here are a couple of photos to give you a glimpse of Camp uReveal.
I’m always thrilled when the youth of our church do outreach by going out to show God’s love in practical ways. They will be spending three days loving on people and beautifying the city June 28th-30th. They will also throw a block party, give away free drinks, and much more. The $30 registration fee covers meals, snacks, transportation, outreach supplies, and a T-shirt! Register HERE.
If you would like to volunteer to read with children at our Hope and Discovery Center, Cat Waltemire, will be providing training at our Beavercreek Campus Family Center, July 6th at 7P. This training will cover: A menu of reading strategies and interventions for tutors to implement, and a guest speaker from Miami University will share about culturally responsive practices. CLICK HERE to register for the training.
Lastly, we also have several upcoming events hosted by our Barnabas Generation (age 50+). Coming soon: Dinner & Theatre (“Oklahoma!”) June 30th, Ark Encounter July 17th and a Summer Picnic August 19th! For more information on these and other events, CLICK HERE!
