It’s Good Friday, and Easter is this weekend! Easter is always a big weekend for our church. Not just for our church, but for churches all around the world. It’s the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus said, “Destroy this temple (his physical body), and I will raise it again in three days.” John 2:19. Our faith rests on this one event; even the calendar we use is based off of this event!
I will be speaking this weekend on Easter is for Everyone! It’s not an exclusive club for the elite or the perfect, but it’s a celebration of the power and authority of Jesus and goodness of God for those who recognize our need for Him.
“By Your Spirit I will rise from the ashes of defeat, the resurrected King, is resurrecting me! In Your name I come alive to declare Your victory, the resurrected King, is resurrecting me!”
One thing I would ask of everyone for this weekend is to please arrive early and park farther away from the entrances to allow our guests to have the prime spots. If you have children, get them settled in earlier to avoid longer lines at the check-in stations. Also, keep an eye out for people who may be visiting with us. Escort families to the children’s ministry and show them where the restrooms and coffee bars are located.
In addition to our FOUR Easter services (Saturday at 5:30P, Sunday at 9A & 11:15A and at our Riverdale Community Site also at 11:15A) we are doing nearly a dozen Easter Egg Hunts all across the area. We had our volunteer meeting last night and everyone received their t-shirt and had the chance to connect with their location leaders. If you would still like to serve, simply show up at Delco Park (or another location of your choice) ready to serve. I would suggest you show up by 10A. (There’s no guarantee that t-shirts will still be available) We would love to have you!
Our staff shared some great testimonies with me about Open Heavens this past Sunday night. (I was just returning from my weekend at Marion Christian Center.) I heard the atmosphere was filled with God’s presence. Celebration always erupts as each person emerges from the waters of baptism. In all, 15 people were baptized! I also cherish those intimate moments, ministry times and prophetic activations during our extended times of worship. Thank you for owning the space around you and for showing up full of faith and expectation!
For children who are younger, who may not yet be ready for baptism (and for babies) we will be doing a child dedication ceremony on Mother’s Day, May 14th during the 11:15A service. If you have children you would like to dedicate, we have an orientation for you to attend on Wednesday, May 10th at 7P. Register HERE.
Looking down the road a bit, we are offering prayer training for anyone wanting to serve in the Prayer & Encounter Ministry. Prayer is a part of everything we do, so it is important to have this foundation. Meet in the Creative Arts room from 1-4P on April 22nd. To register CLICK HERE.
Aurora will also be facilitating another session of “Hearing His Voice.” If you are interested in learning more about prophetic ministry or would just like to learn more about hearing God’s voice, this class is for you. Thursday, April 27th from 6:30-8:30P in the Creative Arts room. REGISTER HERE.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend!
P.S. Our women’s ministry will be celebrating the completion of their Armor of God Bible study series with a Night of Worship on May 5th at 6:30P. More info to come!
