For those of you who know me, you know I’m not very politically motivated… actually, I try to stay out of politics as much as possible. I have always tried to fight for what I am FOR instead of what I am AGAINST. One of the principles I have always tried to live by is that I believe we can walk hand-in-hand, without seeing eye-to-eye. I was watching the news recently and there was a new story about a boycott that was happening… I looked down at my salad, shook my head and thought, “I should boycott salad…” I know there are times when I have to take a stand, while at other times it’s wise to keep my opinion to myself (No one ever wins an argument on Facebook…).
I wanted to let you know this weekend I will be at Marion Christian Center, 1550 Richland Rd. in Marion, OH. I will be speaking Friday night (7P) and at their Sunday service as well (I will also be doing some training for their leaders on Saturday). Here is a link to their website for more information. http://www.mymcclife.org/fnac. I would love to have you come up and join me Friday night!
While I am away, Caleb will be continuing our Blessed series. He will be speaking on “Blessed are the peacemakers.” See Matthew 5. (Keep in mind, there is a difference between a peacemaker and a peacekeeper.)
Also this weekend we will be performing baptisms this Sunday evening at our Open Heavens night of worship. This will be a great time of worship as we celebrate with those who have decided to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and get baptized!
We offer a baptism class for those wanting to get baptized. We already had the baptism classes for kids this past week, but the baptism class for adults is Sunday at 6P prior to the service in the Lodge. REGISTER HERE or for more information contact Tommy Lauber at firstname.lastname@example.org.
During an Open Heavens night of worship, the atmosphere is faith-filled with anticipation and expectation. Often times there are prophetic words that are shared that ignite times of ministry. There is no childcare for this service… but your children are welcome to join you for this service. It’s a great opportunity to model worship to our kids.
Our Easter Egg Hunts are soon upon us! Our Ministry Partner Meeting is Thursday, April 13 at 6:30P. You will need to attend this meeting to pick up your FREE limited edition “retro cool” Vineyard T-shirt! You will also choose your assignment for the Egg Hunt you signed up for… The options may be different based upon the location you chose. There is always a need for set-up, tear-down and clean-up. They all need to have the eggs distributed and supervised. At Delco Park, parking is always a challenge… and some locations may have grills or inflatables… If you would like to do face painting or balloon twisting, Bonnie Sliver will be doing a tutorial at the meeting! But the main job for all of us is just to be friendly and welcoming!
If you haven’t signed up, it’s not too late, BUT, we really need for you to SIGN UP now. To pull off nearly a dozen egg hunts, we need FOUR HUNDRED volunteers!
This weekend we will have business-card-sized invitations to our Easter services for you to pick up so that you can invite your family and friends to celebrate Easter with you here at Vineyard Church. We also have downloadable versions on our website for you to post to your social media. Here is the link: https://www.daytonvineyard.com/invite
Looking down the road a bit, we are offering prayer training for anyone wanting to serve in the Prayer & Encounter Ministry. Prayer is a part of everything we do, so it is important to have this foundation. Meet in the Creative Arts room from 1-4P on April 22nd. To register CLICK HERE.
P.S. Our monthly Revive Dayton outreach is tomorrow at Emmanuel Lutheran 4865 Wilmington Pike in Kettering. 8A-1P. Coffee, worship, prayer and outreach!
