As spring approaches, there is a lot going on around our church. (Speaking of Spring, this weekend daylight savings begins. Don’t forget to “Spring forward” this Sunday morning! Otherwise, you will be late for church.) For us, Spring always means Community Easter Egg Hunts. This year we will be hosting nearly a DOZEN Egg Hunts in neighborhoods all across the city, including Delco Park…). For more info and to sign up to serve CLICK HERE.
As we continue our series on the Beatitudes, this week I will be speaking on Blessed are the Meek. I define meekness as power controlled by love. Meekness is like a horse that has been tamed…or like medicine curing a fever. (Jesus said the meek will inherit the earth.) If you have missed either of the first two weeks of this series, you can listen to the audio by clicking on this link: https://www.daytonvineyard.com/messages/
We have a busy weekend ahead. TONIGHT is our Barnabas Generation Mexican dinner and movie night. (If you are over 50 you should have received an email about this). Saturday morning is our monthly ReviveOHIO Dayton outreach meeting at 8A at Northridge Wesleyan Church, 61842 Neff Rd. in Dayton. If you attended the ReviveOHIO Dayton meetings, the worship team from AHOP church in Xenia led worship one night. They did such a great job that we have invited them to lead at our Open Heavens this Sunday night at 7P. It’s going to be an amazing night of worship!
Starting Line is beginning this weekend, too. If you have been wanting to get connected at our church, no matter how long you have been attending, check out Starting Line. It’s a two week series where you will have the opportunity to meet some of our staff, hear our history, discuss our future vision, ask questions, get connected, and make some friends along the way. It is held in the Lodge during the 11:15A service on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month (March 12th & 19th). No need to register. Please attend both sessions.
Aurora shared with us in staff meeting this week that she had 24 people that attended her prayer training last week. Many of them jumped right in this past weekend and were up front after services praying for people. That’s really exciting to me!
We are also offering a Healing 1 course in conjunction with our Dayton School of Ministry training. (You don’t have to be registered for the school to attend this class.) 6:30–8:30P on Wednesdays, March 29th through May 31st. Registration is required. $50 fee includes the course textbook “Doing Healing: How to Minister God’s Kingdom in the Power of the Spirit” by Alexander Venter. Registration deadline is NEXT Sunday, March 19th. For all the details, Click HERE or email Mike Coons at email@example.com.
As I mentioned, there’s always a lot going on and our team has been doing a great job keeping our website up-to-date. You can always go to www.daytonvineyard.com and look under the “Get Involved” tab to get details on all of our events.
It’s going to be a great weekend. I look forward to seeing you!
