One of the things you may not know about me is I love to help other churches. I committed years ago to help any church that needed it. I have experienced leading a church from seven families to over 1,000 people. At one time I was overseeing a dozen or so Vineyard churches from across Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri (and Texas!) We helped them work through issues, develop their mission, vision and values, did leadership training, gave them food for thought and even helped them launch new ministries. I have been working with a church in Wauseon, Ohio that had been struggling for some time. They have now grown from 40 people to over 150! (That is no small feat.)
Another recent example is a church in Marion, Ohio… They invited me to speak at a conference they were hosting a while back. While I was there, I met with their leadership and challenged them to get outside the walls of their church. (It’s so easy for churches to become “inward.”) Out of that, they are launching a food pantry… next weekend! They came into town last weekend and went out with us to Fairborn to distribute groceries and pray for folks, and get some training on the practical side of doing that type of outreach.

We started a new series last weekend, titled, “DAVID.” We are working toward recording live video as we stream our 11:15A service on our Facebook page. In the meantime, audio recordings are available on our website. If you missed last weekend’s message, CLICK HERE to listen. CLICK HERE to link to our Facebook page.
This weekend’s message is from 1 Samuel 17 (David and Goliath.) Take a few minutes before you come to church this weekend and read that chapter and see what the Lord says to you…
We have had some great times of worship the past couple of weeks, with our all-worship weekend to ring in the new year, followed by last weekend’s worship and communion. Open Heavens Sunday night was also an anointed time of worship and ministry. Thank you for pressing in to God’s presence with us. It’s been amazing!
We are offering reading training Tuesday, February 7 at our Riverdale Community Site for anyone who would like to volunteer to read with children at our Hope and Discovery Center. Our after-school program is every Monday and Wednesday at 4:30P if you would like to check it out. Mondays there is a devotional and Bible stories, Wednesday is the reading program. Dinner is served to the children on both nights. For more information, CLICK HERE.
I hope you’ll join me for a special night of connection, ministry, visioning and encouragement, Friday, January 27 at 7 P. We will enjoy a meal, fellowship and worship together. Please RSVP to attend this event. To RSVP for VISION:2017 CLICK HERE.
TOMORROW we are having a Time To Revive DAYTON outreach (the 2nd Saturday of each month) in partnership with other churches that participated in Revive Dayton. This month’s outreach is 8A at Emmanuel Lutheran (in Kettering.) I hope to see you there tomorrow morning.
