I hope you were able to join us for a Christmas Eve service last week. It was a very special time as I shared about “The Greatest Gift” . . . Jesus. We lit our candles and sang “O Holy Night” together. It was a very meaningful and anointed time.
We also also hosted a service on Christmas, Sunday morning, that we successfully live-streamed onto our Facebook page! We got several messages from families who tuned in from the comfort of their home or while out of town. A friend of mine who was ill, was able to participate in the service by logging on to our Facebook page. Another couple, while driving through Kentucky on their way to Florida . . . tuned in live via their smartphone and synced the audio to the bluetooth in their car. They loved it! We hope our live stream is a helpful tool for our church family as well as a way for people to check us out prior to attending.
This weekend we are going to ring in the new year with an all-worship weekend. No message, just worship for the entire service. This will give you a good idea of what our Open Heavens services are like. (Back in the day we used to call it a WOW service.) Open Heavens is the 2nd Sunday evening of every month.
Saturday is New Year’s Eve. The service is at 5:30P (New Year’s Eve) and Sunday, we will be doing ONE service at 10A (New Year’s Day). There will be childcare on Sunday for Nursery through Preschool only, there is no childcare on Saturday.
There is one service at our Riverdale site, Sunday morning at 10A. (No New Year’s Eve service on Saturday.)
Our pantry reopens this Tuesday, January 3. Bagging resumes Wednesday, January 4 at 5:30P in preparation for Food for Fairborn, Saturday at 10A.
As we gear up for the new year, if you would like to discover freedom from life’s hurts, hang-ups and habits, check out Celebrate Recovery starting up at our Riverdale Community Site in Dayton on Wednesday nights beginning January 4, 2017. Meal 5:45P, Large Group 6:30P; Recovery Groups 7:30-8:30P; Fellowship Café 8:30-9:00P. For more info, email email@example.com.
I look forward to worshiping with you this weekend. If I don’t see you, I hope you have a safe and blessed New Year!
