We are going to continue reviveOHIO Dayton for another week as momentum is just beginning to build. So if you missed out this past week, you will still have the opportunity to jump on board!
It has been an exciting week with our friends from reviveOHIO! Each day has begun with a time of intimate worship and prayer, followed by breakfast. We have gone all over the city praying for other churches. We have met daily for lunch and to share testimonies from the morning. In the afternoons we have been invited to share the Gospel in various schools and businesses. One team that was invited into the Greene County Juvenile Justice Center led 14 young men and women to Christ! Each evening we meet at 7P for worship, baptisms, training and inspiration.
Scott, Joy, myself and Sheri (from Time to Revive) went to “Coffee with a Cop” at a community center on W. Third Street in Dayton. Joy and Sheri got to pray for the police chief. I prayed with a group of young adults who are starting a business… I prayed for their cash flow! On the way back to church, we got a call that someone was in the hospital, so we stopped by Miami Valley to pray for them. After we prayed for that family, there was another family in the waiting area. We asked them why they were there. The girl’s mom had a brain bleed and is in serious condition. We prayed for them, but the young father, who was tending to their three month old son was sitting by himself. Scott prayed with him also. He ended up giving his life to Jesus!
These are just today’s testimonies from only my team. We have had more than 20 teams going out each day!

I’m hoping that everyone gets to go out into the community with a team to pray for other churches, schools, businesses or people on the streets. God is opening the doors for us! Teams are going out every morning and afternoon.
During the evening services we have a call for “disciple-makers.” The discipleship component is very important. When people accept Christ, we offer to pair them up with a person who will meet with them regularly for the next year, just to help them grow. Each night we ask for those who would like to disciple one of these new believers to attend a quick training in the Lodge to get their materials and the contact information of the person they will be discipling. If you have ever wanted to mentor someone who is a new Christian, this could be your opportunity!
If you would like to help us facilitate the revive meetings along the way, you could always help with hospitality by welcoming folks, greeting, or serving coffee… We serve both breakfast and dinner at the church and that requires a significant amount of manpower. You could also help with parking or cleaning up the facility each day. Just let Angie Bailey (hospitality) or Tommy Lauber (facilities) know you would like to help. Email them at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also just show up ready to serve!
Our groups that meet at the Vineyard during the week will NOT be meeting during reviveOHIO Dayton. We are asking that all of our groups participate in reviveOHIO instead.
Lastly, we have been hosting 24/7 prayer and worship in our Creative Arts Room in the Family Center during reviveOHIO Dayton. If you would like to sign up to pray or lead worship, CLICK HERE. Time slots are one hour each.
Remember, there is no regular weekend Saturday service this weekend (Oct 29). There will be a reviveOHIO service at 7P instead. There will also be a Sunday NIGHT service again at 6P this Sunday. The same daily schedule will continue through next week. We will keep you posted as best as we can along the way! For more information about Revive Dayton check out timetorevive.com or reviveoh.com.
There will be a revive TEENS service Saturday at 5P in the Student Center!
Children’s ministry is available this Sunday night, Nursery through Preschool. All other evening services will offer ministry for Nursery through Grade 5. Revive Teens services are on Wednesday and Saturday beginning at 5P in the Student Center.
I will be speaking at both Sunday services this weekend at 9 and 11:15A. I look forward to seeing you!
P.S. Due to the schedule conflict and our focus on reviveOHIO Dayton, we will not be able to do a FunFest this year. We were hoping to do 4-6 FunFests in various neighborhoods, but God had other plans for us!
I also wanted to let you know that we will be hosting HONOR WEEKEND in observance of Veteran’s Day, the weekend of November 5 & 6. Our friend Dr. Mike Hutchings from Global Awakening will be our guest speaker. While in Dayton, he also will be doing a training seminar on how to pray for those with issues relating to PTSD. CLICK HERE for more information.
