Last weekend Caleb kicked off our new series entitled, “UNITED. A Field Guide to Practical Missional Living.” This weekend I will be sharing on the power of God’s love expressed through simple acts of kindness. At the Vineyard we call it “Servant Evangelism.”
“…the followers of Jesus all became missionaries. Wherever they were scattered, they preached the Message about Jesus.” (Acts 8:3)
It’s easy to think that you have to move to Africa or some other far-off country to be a missionary. But God has called each of us to be missionaries right here in Dayton. That’s why we do events like our Back to School Fest or Food for Fairborn (the 1st Saturday of each month – tomorrow at 10A at the Vineyard or 10:45A at Fairborn Primary School.) We will provide groceries, hope, prayer and encouragement to over 100 families!
Last night we had an evening of training and equipping at Living Word Church directed by ReviveOhio leaders to prepare us for ReviveDayton! Today at lunchtime we had a pastors and leaders meeting at Omega Baptist Church. I’m so excited to see what the Lord is going to do through our church family and city-wide through all the churches working together to share the gospel! For more information check out timetorevive.com or reviveoh.com. Revive Dayton starts October 23 at the Vineyard.
If you would like to hear more about our mission and vision, we have a 3-week membership series called Vineyard 101. This series starts October 9 during the 11:15A service in the Lodge. You will have the opportunity to hear our story, meet some of our staff and get connected.
Our Barnabas Generation (50+) is hosting a brunch in the Lodge, Saturday, October 8 at 10A. We will share a meal together followed by a time of worship featuring traditional hymns. Bring a main dish to share! For more information email Ron Bechtold at email@example.com.
Speaking of worship, I wanted to invite you to our next night of worship, October 9 (the 2nd Sunday of every month) at 7P. “Open Heavens” is an extended time of worship… Often times there are prophetic words that are shared, and words of knowledge that ignite times of ministry. I hope you will join us sometime.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend,
P.S. Join us Sunday mornings in the Lodge at 8A for a time of prayer and intercession.
