I woke up a few times this week with this verse on my heart from Lamentations 3:22-23,
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” I love that… they are new EVERY morning.
If you were at the 11:15 AM service last weekend, you know that we had something unusual happen… someone had a medical emergency while I was speaking. The person passed out and needed medical attention. Several people around her tended to her while we waited for the medics to arrive. People prayed and offered assistance. I was very proud of how our staff and congregation handled the situation. You may have not been aware that we have a safety team on site at all services keeping a watchful eye. They also jumped right into help. Some folks from our Community of Hope team visited her this week in the hospital and prayed with her. I just wanted to thank everyone and let you know she is on the mend.

This weekend we are starting a brand new series entitled, “UNITED. A Field Guide to Practical Missional Living.” The Great Commission in Matthew 28 states, “Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” During this series we will unpack what it means to live life with purpose.
I’m very excited that several groups have started this week… Life After Loss, Prepare to Last and The Art of Marriage, as well as our first session of our DSM (Dayton School of Ministry!) Our Women’s Ministry study “Entrusted” based on 2 Timothy is a brand new study by Beth Moore, starting next week, Wednesday September 28 at 9:30A AND/OR 7P.

Their group is focused on getting to know each other and create lasting relationships. This Sunday, September 25 is Pizza with the Pastors after 11:15A service in the Lodge. This meeting is for people who are newer to our church and would like to meet some of our staff, ask questions and get connected. No need to preregister, just stop by.
