I want you to know how much I appreciate your taking the time to read my note each week. Hopefully you find it helpful and informative.
This weekend we will be offering communion and continuing our message series, The Good Life. Caleb will be speaking on the importance of living life in such a way that we steward our time and resources wisely, so as to have maximum impact on the world around us. Ephesians 5:15-17 states, “Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
Additionally, this weekend our kids (preschool thru 5th grade) will be doing outdoor worship this weekend, weather permitting. It’s good to change their environment once in a while to help create lasting memories (and, it’s going to get cold before we know it and they won’t be able to go outside to enjoy the sunshine!) Go ahead and check your kids in as usual.
Our Hope and Discovery Center Reading Volunteer Training is September 7, 2016. Kris Wood, a reading specialist with Wilmington Schools, will be providing training for anyone who would like to volunteer to read with children at our Hope and Discovery Center.
This training will cover the basic routine we will be using during reading time, how to read to a child or have them read to you, so that the child has the most beneficial reading time, and the skills and activities any adult can do with the children to further their reading ability. I also wanted to let you know that our friends Adam and Kelly Vaughan will be at our weekend services September 10 and 11. We will be hosting a reception for them Saturday the 10th from 3-5 PM in the Family Center. Light refreshments will be served. For more information on their ministry in Costa Rica, check out their website at www.thebackwardsmissionaries.com
Our next Open Heavens night of worship is Sunday night September 11 at 7 P. Open Heavens is a great opportunity for us to enjoy an extended time of worship. The atmosphere is faith-filled, with anticipation and expectation. Often times there are prophetic words that are shared, and words of knowledge that ignite times of ministry. I hope you can join us!
Lastly, I would like to invite you to a time of intercessory prayer Sunday mornings at 8 AM in the Lodge, starting this Sunday, September 4. All are welcome! Questions? Email Aurora at email@example.com.
I look forward to seeing you this weekend,
P.S. Our men’s group overnight camping trip is September 24-25 at Caesar Creek State Park. Only $30 includes campsite fees and meals! Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, CLICK HERE.
