I am writing to you today from the mountains of Colorado. I have been enjoying some time off this week with Marcie and some of our other family. I love being in the mountains. It’s one of my favorite places on earth.
I have had only intermittent internet access the past several days. I woke up this morning, as many of you did, to the news of 11 police officers being shot in Dallas (5 of them died.) This, on the heels of 2 police-involved shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota. I am saddened by all of this, and I am appalled by our justice system. Things are so broken. I just keep reminding myself that Jesus told us to guard against our hearts from growing cold and to keep our hope alive. I spent time last night praying and asking God for healing for our land. I am trying to figure out how to be the good Samaritan during this time… What are your thoughts on how we should respond to be the good Samaritan?
