Last weekend Caleb spoke about letting go of our “adulthood” and unleashing our childlike potential from the books of 1 Samuel 3 and Matthew 11 and 18. If you missed last week’s message (or any other week of the series) you can listen online by clicking Here.
This weekend I will be wrapping up our Unshakable Faith series by speaking on five beliefs that can change our lives: What we believe about God, Jesus, ourselves, our future and others.
Our next series, “GENERATIONS: Living for Your Legacy” begins next week. Proverbs 13:22 in the Message translation states, “A good life gets passed on to the grandchildren.” In this series we will look at how to leave our mark on our family and the world around us.
I wanted to show you a few photos taken at Love Dayton last week. We had a great time knocking on doors… passing out flyers, bread and praying for people. Saturday was a chilly day for the block party, but we still had a good turnout. The outreach featured gigantic blow-up slides, obstacle course, bouncy castles, a zip line and much more. Both crusade meetings Friday and Saturday night at the convention center had great times of worship and ministry. Lots of people healed and lots of people saved. I am so proud of our church family! We always rise to the occasion… (especially when it involves reaching out to the community.) Thank you again for your friendship and support as we extend God’s Kingdom to our city!
Just a couple of other items of interest…
This weekend we will be hosting a reception for Steve and Pattie Bowen as they venture out into a new phase of life and ministry. Stop by the Lodge after each service and wish them well. (We will also be accepting donations if you would like to support them.) If you would like to read more about what they will be doing, click on this link: http://stevebowen.blogspot.com
We will be honoring our graduates the weekend of June 11 & 12 at each service. If you know someone who attends our church who is graduating from high school or college, please let them/us know. (Including our very own Kevin Hoffman, who just received his Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling!) Message Angie Bailey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our next Open Heavens night of worship is Sunday, June 12 at 7 PM.
One last item… Our vKidz Camp uReveal is scheduled to start June 23. Camp uReveal provides an opportunity for our kids to grow in the realization that our Creator can be part of everything they do, design, think, and say. The children will have an opportunity to choose from one of five areas of study… Art, dance, writing, invention and athletics. For more info and to register CLICK HERE.
P.S. Don’t forget to register for our Barnabas Generation (50+) Famous Daytonians Historical Tour at Carillon Park. Saturday, June 11, 11 AM to 3 PM. $32 per person, deadline to register is May 28. For more info and to register CLICK HERE.
