I have a lot of information to pass along to you this week. I am very excited about this season we are in as a church! I will try to be brief, but please take a moment to look over my entire note this week.
First of all, tonight (Friday, Feb 19 at 6:30 PM) is our Women’s Night of Worship. It’s going to be a great time of worship, fellowship and ministry. Bring a side or main dish to share. Coffee and dessert will be provided. Please meet in the Family Life Center (enter under the green awning).
This weekend my good friend Robby Dawkins will be speaking at all of our services. Robby has been a great encouragement to me personally and has spoken here many times. If you would like to watch a few minutes of Robby speaking CLICK HERE.
We will be starting our new message series NEXT weekend entitled, “Focus: Four Points of View that Shape the World.”
Also, this weekend is our Vineyard Groups launch weekend. Most of our groups are starting this coming Tuesday and Wednesday including our Men’s and Women’s studies. This weekend you may notice many of our group leaders wearing name tags and will be available to answer questions and help you get plugged into a group. CLICK HERE FOR GROUPS INFO.
Last weekend I asked Kevin Hoffman to tell you a little bit about our “Marriage for a Lifetime” series he is facilitating. It’s a 10-week course on Tuesday nights starting February 23. Registration is $40 per couple. It includes course materials and a relationship assessment that will identify your strengths and areas that need strengthening. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.
Childcare (up to age 10) is provided for those attending a group on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the church.
If you are interested in helping with one of our our annual Easter Egg Hunts CLICK HERE. We are hosting Easter Egg Hunt outreaches at several locations this year. You can choose the location where you would like to serve!
On a more personal note, I have some exciting news to share with you. Alton has prayerfully decided he wants to plant a church near where he, his wife Holley, and their family live (in the West Chester area, north of Cincinnati).
If you know Alton at all, this will not come as a surprise to you. You already know he is a very gifted leader and communicator. It has been exciting to watch Alton grow in his giftedness while he has been on staff here at the Vineyard.
The heart of the Vineyard movement has always been to plant churches. We’ve had quite a few of our pastors go on to plant churches in Dayton, Huber Heights, Springfield and Tampa, Florida (Not to mention that Adam and Kelly Vaughan sold everything and moved to Costa Rica to be missionaries). I’ve helped countless other church planters over the past 25 years of ministry. It’s one of my personal goals.
Down the road we will be giving him the opportunity to share his heart and vision with you. We want to pray for him as a church and send him off well. He will remain on staff through the spring, continuing to serve in our children’s and student ministries. Please be praying for him and encourage him along the way. Obviously we wish him nothing but the best in his new adventure!
I look forward to seeing you this weekend!
