Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray… (Luke 11:1 NLT)
How to make the most of a day:
1. Deal with the here and now; the day to day
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (1 Peter 5:7 NLT)
“And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.
(Luke 12:29-31 NLT)
But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4 NLT)
2. Dare to dream
Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. (Luke 12:22-23 NLT)
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us… (Ephesians 3:20-21 MSG)
3. Invest in your future
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin… (Zechariah 4:10 NLT)
Take a lesson from the ants… Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the
winter. (Proverbs 6:6-8 NLT)
As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you.
On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:1-2 NLT)
