Compulsive Behaviors are defined as an unhealthy relationship with any mood-altering experience or substance (includes all addictions, i.e. food, gambling, sex, shopping, alcohol or other drugs of abuse) that interferes with normal daily functioning and results in harmful consequences.

Relationship Issues include all forms of enabling behavior, such as codependency, which is defined as an unhealthy dependence on the needs of another person. It can also be a relationship in which a person is controlled or manipulated by another who is affected with any type of compulsive behavior (see above).
