Welcome to my online blog for our Vineyard Life Journal!
This forum IS NOT for debate or to correct each other, but to share our insights and observations. (Actually, I will be keeping a pretty tight rein on the comments section, and I will have the ability to block trolls, spammers or those who just want to stir the pot.)
Before you comment or read what I have posted, read today’s passages for yourself and complete your own S.O.A.P. exercise… (If you read mine first, it may taint what you think.)

Here is my SOAP for today, Thursday, September 13, 2018
Ezekiel 33 “When all this comes true—and it surely will—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.” [Ezekiel’s calling was renewed… as a prophet and watchman.]
Ezekiel 34 “The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? 3 You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. 4 You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. 5 So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. 6 My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.”
Ezekiel 35, another prophecy against Edom.
Revelation 18 all about the great city “Babylon.” The “city on seven hills.” (Interesting that if you Google “city on seven hills” the city of Rome is the first thing that pops up. Link: Wikipedia/Rome
I’m not looking to dig too deep here… just making an observation, although there are many who believe that Rome is that city in Revelation, and it goes from there.
I wonder how many self-proclaimed prophets in recent history have quoted Ezekiel to justify their existence? “When all this comes true—and it surely will—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
If you have read my blog before, you know I’m a practical person. I’m not looking for the obscure, I’m trying to live out the obvious. Mark Twain is quoted as saying, “It ain’t those parts of the Bible that I can’t understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand.”
I did a blog post, “Just… Be… Ready…” The rest will take care of itself. I think its’s interesting to study and to speculate and wonder… but in the end, none of that really matters. So what if Rome is the harlot? What if some president or foreign leader is the AntiChrist… So what? We are called to live out the Gospel. To love those around us. To… just… be… ready…
Bless the Lord, Oh my soul…
