It’s a two verse week. I could not decide on which verse should go into my S.O.A.P. life journal yesterday so I both did. I don’t think there is a rule about that, and it’s my Journal anyway.
If you have read the Bible more than once or twice it is easy to end up with the same verses standing out again and again. For 2018 I decided it was going to be new insights new thoughts and new prayers.
It is the same today, for a few of the people of Israel have remained faithful because of God’s grace—his undeserved kindness in choosing them. And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved. (Romans 11:5-6 NLT)
Many times the reason I think I can stand strong for Jesus is that? (You can fill it in for your self.)
But the real reason I can stand or serve or pray or live or breathe is that of God’s grace. His unearned, undeserved, unmerited, kindness. Even as David penned, “he builds a wall around my life.” I am thankful He chose me and you too. My choice, to rest in his choice. I want to stay within his wall of protection for my life.
Now the other verse.
The life of the godly is full of light and joy… (Proverbs 13:9 NLT)
Now that’s a great verse.
Who is the godly person this verse is speaking of? You and me, of course! Godly, holy, set apart, full of joy and light. Today, right here, right now place your hand on your heart and agree with what God says about you.
I am full of joy
I am full of light
I am full of God’s undeserved kindness
I am loved by Jesus
This last verse is the new verse speaking to me today. I pray God through the power of the Holy Spirit would give you fresh insights!
Blessings, love, and peace,
