Well, by now you have transitioned into your ‘Second Quarter”, pale green, Life Journal book.
We have made it a long way. Congratulations!
This week I want to draw your attention to Judges 17: 6 NLT:
In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.
This verse is one of the scariest verses we have read so far. Israel is in trouble at this point and they really don’t even know it. They know that their lives have been reduced to bare survival, living from hand to mouth or field to mouth if anything grows. What is interesting is no one is asking why. Except an angel comes down and meets with a kid. Gideon asked the angel, “why has all this happened to us?”
Instead of doing what is right in God’s eyes they did what is right in their own eyes. You see, left to ourselves, we have an eye problem. Paul calls this eye problem sin. I don’t want to be left to myself and I don’t want to do what is right in my own eyes.
Today’s verse is one of those verses that warn us to look past ourselves and decide to desire and do what is right in His eyes.
Have another great week!
