Welcome to my online blog for our Vineyard Life Journal!
This forum IS NOT for debate or to correct each other, but to share our insights and observations. (Actually, I will be keeping a pretty tight rein on the comments section, and I will have the ability to block trolls, spammers or those who just want to stir the pot.)
Before you comment or read what I have posted, read today’s passages for yourself and complete your own S.O.A.P. exercise… (If you read mine first, it may taint what you think.)

Here is my SOAP for today, Tuesday, February 13, 2018
Leviticus 20 punishments for all kinds of sins “If a man _________” “he must be cut off from their people…”
Leviticus 21 more rules for the priests. 8 “I the Lord am holy—I who make you holy.”
16 “The Lord said to Moses, 17 “Say to Aaron: ‘For the generations to come none of your descendants who has a defect may come near to offer the food of his God. 18 No man who has any defect may come near: no man who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed; 19 no man with a crippled foot or hand, 20 or who is a hunchback or a dwarf, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles.”
Leviticus 22 more rules for the priests and guidelines for unacceptable sacrifices.
31 “Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord. 32 Do not profane my holy name, for I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the Lord, who made you holy 33 and who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord.”
Acts 20, another of Paul’s journeys… Apparently, he was long-winded, spoke until midnight, a young man fell out of a third story window and died, Paul raised them from the dead!
Paul was not thought of as a great speaker, either… he was extremely knowledgeable, but not engaging… 2 Corinthians 10:10 “For some say, “His letters are weighty and forceful, but in person he is unimpressive and his speaking amounts to nothing.”
22 Paul announces he is going to Jerusalem… He knows this is the beginning of the end.
31 “Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”
Soooo many lawwwws… Most of them are obvious… but some seem nonsensical – mixing of fabrics??
I love Paul’s commitment, determination and focus.
I would love to take a trip and follow Paul’s journey from city to city…
“It is not the one who commends himself
who is approved,
but the one whom the Lord commends.”
2 Corinthians 10:18
So thankful to have a savior and great high priest who makes me/us holy… There is no way to keep the law perfectly… (I can’t wait to get to Romans that addresses this issue very clearly.)
My journey may look nothing like Paul’s journey, but it is my journey.
Thank you Lord for the journey to which you have called me and each one of us! Help me to be faithful on my journey!
