It was an interesting week. Up to now, I was in a routine of Genesis and Luke each day. It only takes a few days to get into routine. (Funny) Then the mix up of adding in Psalm 3. I was thinking we would finish Geneses and Luke before venturing out to other places, but what a pleasant change it was.
But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;
you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
I cried out to the Lord,
and he answered me from his holy mountain.
I lay down and slept,
yet I woke up in safety,
for the Lord was watching over me. (Psalms 3:3-5 NLT)
Many years ago we sang a worship song written from these verses (CLICK HERE to listen). WOW! All those feelings of love towards the Lord came flooding back to me. All the fellowship, friends, and answered prayers. During that time of my life I was just starting an internship with Vineyard as I was preparing myself to become a pastor. Life seemed hard, little cash, lots of kids, and the promise of hope. It’s funny how 40 years can seem like just a moment.
Thou O Lord art a shield about me …
You’re my glory and lifter of my head.
I can still hear that melody in my heart.
Love you all!
