Tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 11th, we are hosting our “drive-thru” blessing opportunity for Veterans from 10A–3P. This will give us the opportunity thank, honor and bless those who have served to provide us the freedom under which we live and worship. We will have a booth set up in our parking lot for them to stop by and receive a Veteran’s blessing. They will also have the opportunity to stop in our lobby for coffee and donuts and to receive additional ministry, if they are interested in doing so.
Our friend Dr. Mike Hutchings, who has developed a prayer model for ministering to those with PTSD, will be speaking during our Sunday morning services this weekend. We are dedicating our services to honoring those who have served in our Nation’s Armed Services. If you know any veterans, please invite them to stop by Saturday to receive a blessing, or to join you at a service this weekend.
We will be doing baptisms during Open Heavens this Sunday night. (Nov. 12th at 6P.) There is a class for those desiring to be baptized. (We have over 20 people registered!) The class for adults is Sunday night at 5p, just prior to the start of Open Heavens. The class for children was last weekend. CLICK HERE to register for baptisms.
2 Corinthians 3:18 states that, “We all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord” are being “transformed into the same image” of Christ… are going from “glory to glory…”; Open Heavens is a great opportunity to go deeper and to stretch our faith. It will be a celebratory atmosphere as people cheer after each person is baptized. (I have a friend who says, “The JOY of the Lord is my strength… seriousness is NOT a fruit of the Spirit!) I hope you will join us. It’s going to be a great night!
Our upcoming Vineyard Art Show is an event to celebrate the artisans in our church family. Painters, writers, dancers, and musicians that serve on the creative arts team will have items available for purchase after each service the weekend of November 18th-19th.
We were in staff meeting this week and, after a time of sharing testimonies and worshiping together, Joy Harvey shared with us that God has called her into a time of fasting. She is praying for breakthrough in finances, relationships and expansion of the Kingdom. She’s pressing in regarding her identity (we are sons and daughters), authority, inheritance and mission. (She’s also fasting for our kids…) As she was sharing with me and our staff, I felt compelled to share it with you as well… to invite you into this new season. Perhaps you need a breakthrough or simply want to draw closer to the Lord, or you could simply pray for our staff, volunteers, mission and alignment. We are believing that God is going speak to us all during this time. You can fast at whatever level suits you… a day here and there, or a few days… ending on Thanksgiving Day. Some people may drink only water, some allow themselves limited food, or you could just eliminate something like coffee until Thanksgiving. We would love to have you join us in this effort. Even if you choose to not participate, I would ask that you please keep those in prayer, who are.
I would also like to thank those of you who have been praying for our students that are attending the Reach Conference this weekend. Please continue praying for them throughout the weekend, that their lives would be transformed!
I look forward to seeing you all this weekend!
