I hope this note finds you well. It was an exciting week with eclipse-mania gripping the country. (A welcome break, given the turn of events in Charlottesville, VA from the previous week.) I had my ISO certified glasses and watched along with millions of others nationwide. While we weren’t in the path of totality, it was still fun to watch.
This weekend, we will be continuing our David series by looking at various relationships in David’s life. Kevin will be sharing with us some keys to relational living from 2 Samuel 11-16. David created a mess when he slept with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite (whom he had killed by putting him on the frontlines of a battle.) He also had some major issues with his kids. There is much we can learn from David’s life.
Tomorrow (Saturday, August 26th at 8:30A) we are hosting the Miami Valley Crime Prevention Association Community Engagement Conference at our Beavercreek campus. For more information or to register to attend, CLICK HERE. This is FREE event, but you need to register in advance.
Also this weekend, our Vineyard Students and Vkids are hosting “Lunch in the Lot” Sunday after both services. We will be featuring two of Dayton’s finest food trucks, Pa’s Pork and Bella Sorella Pizza. Join us after either service to purchase lunch for your family while hanging out with your Vineyard friends!
I’m very excited to share with you that this coming Thursday, August 31st at 7P we are showing the Ohio State/Indiana football game (on the big screen!) as the launch event for our Men’s Triads. What’s a “triad” you ask? A triad is a group of three (or four) guys, that have committed to getting together a couple times per month for coffee, breakfast or whatever, just to connect and encourage each other. Someone may share a verse they have read recently, or the group can do a more formal study. Scott will be sharing more about this at the game. (Sorry ladies, this event is for guys only.) For more info CLICK HERE.
There is always a lot happening around the church… The best way to stay informed is to go to dvc.life/events. All of our events are listed there.
It’s going to be a great weekend!
