I hope you had a good time at our Summer Splash Pool Party last Sunday night. The weather was good… not too hot, not too cold (and no rain!) And there was plenty of hot dogs and Ritter’s frozen custard, too!
I want you to know how much I appreciate when you give us a shoutout on your social media. Donna posted to her Facebook page, “The staff at the Vineyard are some of the hardest working people I know!! You all did an amazing job coordinating and working the Summer Splash party for hundreds of folk today. Thank you.” Thank You Donna for the kind words!
We’ve had two big weekends in a row, with last weekend being our Back to School Fest. We do so much outreach that once in awhile we need to do something just for fun, and to show you how much we appreciate you, your friendship and support. I am so thankful for you… and I’m honored to be your pastor.
This weekend we are continuing our DAVID series, looking at the second half of David’s life. I’m going to be speaking this weekend on the principle of “firsts.” Putting God first in every area of my life… not just my finances, but in my interests, relationships, even in my troubles. If you would like to read the scripture passage prior to the weekend, check out 2 Samuel 7:1-11.
Check out Hearing His Voice, next Wednesday, August 23rd at 6:30P in the Creative Arts Room in the FLC. This is a training for everyone currently serving, and also those who desire to serve on any of our prophetic teams or just wanting to hear the Lord more clearly. There will be a time of equipping and activations to “hear His voice”. Register to attend by clicking HERE. (Free!)
As part of our ongoing effort to fight the opioid epidemic, we are hosting The Miami Valley Crime Prevention Association Community Engagement Conference, August 26th at our Beavercreek campus. For more information or to register to attend, CLICK HERE. This is FREE event, but you must register.
I’m very excited to share with you that Thursday, August 31st at 7P we are showing the Ohio State/Indiana football game (on the big screen!) as the launch event for our Men’s Triads. What’s a “triad” you ask? A triad is a group of three (or four) guys, that have committed to getting together a couple times per month for coffee, breakfast or whatever, just to connect and encourage each other. Someone may share a verse they have read recently, or the group can do a more formal study. Scott will be sharing more about this at the game. (Sorry ladies, this event is for guys only.) For more info CLICK HERE.
There is always a lot happening around the church…The best way to stay informed is to go to dvc.life/events. All of our events are listed there.
I hope to see you this weekend!
P.S. Our Barnabas generation (age 50+) is having a picnic TOMORROW Saturday, August 19th at Lofino Park in Beavercreek from 11A to 4P. Check it out! Meat is provided, bring a dish to share!
